John D. McKenna to Speak at NYSBA Seminar: 2010 Insurance Coverage Update: Insurance Coverage Issues in the Commercial General Liability Policy – Emerging Issues for the Next Decade

On Friday, June 25th, L’Abbate Balkan partner John D. McKenna will speak at the New York State Bar Association seminar, 2010 Insurance Coverage Update: Insurance Coverage Issues in the Commercial General Liability Policy – Emerging Issues for the Next Decade.

Mr. McKenna will present the topic: “Arising Out Of” and Similar Additional Insured Issues Following Worth and Garito, which will explore issues involving the typical additional insured endorsement, the written contract requirement, “arising out of” and similar issues, and Worth, Garito and other recent case law.

Mr. McKenna is a member of the Firm’s Insurance Industry Practice Group. Insurance companies rely upon the Insurance Industry Practice Group at L’Abbate Balkan to draft policies, render coverage opinions, act as monitoring counsel, advise excess carriers and reinsurers, litigate declaratory judgment and "bad faith" actions, and provide auditing services. These services are performed on a nationwide basis and the Firm’s Insurance Industry Practice Group represents its clients' interests in litigation, arbitration and mediations throughout the country.

2010 Insurance Coverage Update: Insurance Coverage Issues in the Commercial General Liability Policy – Emerging Issues for the Next Decade will be presented at the Radisson Martinique on Broadway, located at 49 West 32nd Street in New York City. Registration is from 8:30-9:00 a.m. and the seminar runs from 9:00 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. Attendees will receive 7.0 CLE credits (6.0 credits in the area of professional practice and 1.0 credit in ethics). For more information about this seminar or to register, please visit the NYSBA’s website.
